Smell of Hampstead and celebration of mid summer (dansk oversættelse i bunden) ;)

Today has been a really lovely day, except that I am still coughing. It was a quite warm day with lots of twittering birds. When I walked from Hampstead to home the air was full of wonderful floral aromas mixed with a strange odor that could remind of old houses, where bricks have been warmed by the sun. Strange, but yet a nice scent.

Saturday we celebrated mid summer here at the hostel (Sankt Hans) with bonfire in the backyard and the obligatory witch was sent off to Bloksbjerg in Germany.

250 people had signed up for the guest list, but I think we were only around 100. It was nice and cozy anyway and we had the pleasure of Anders Lund Madsen (famous danish comedian) who held the speech. He was quite entertaining.

Normally they have some strict rules here at the YWCA about alcohol. It is not allowed to drink or store it in the house. But for mid summer they had changed it a bit and served beer + hot dogs. So I had my first danish french dog in London - with ketchup as they did not have the real sauce to put in. I survived though :)
