Am currently sitting in the Tube on my way from work to the Danish embassy. Together with my roommate we are going to the event they are having this evening. Our superb male handball team is playing against Spain 8.15pm UK time - it is going to be fun to watch and the best part is that they are serving Danish finger food.
Fingers crossed and do not forget to cheer them on.

Radio silence
Installing the blog app was a pretty good idea. If not, I wouldn't be able to sit here at Waterloo st. updating the blog.
So much is happening here in London at the moment and time flies by so fast. I can not believe I have already been here 1,5 month. I had hoped I would have the time to upload a post every day, but unfortunately it is not the case :(
The Olympics have started already and the city is more alive and vibrant than ever. As some of you already know my roommate and I have got handball tickets to see our women plays against Spain on Wednesday the 1st August. I am really looking forward to experiencing the whole event and hopefully see our ladies win.
Have a great Sunday out there :)

Slutty brownies but no oven
When staying at K means no oven, no fridge no nothing which can be very frustrating some times (read: always).
One of my roommates recommended --> this London blog - mostly because of the recipe for what the writer behind the blog calls - Slutty brownies. I have to try them one day! But again it is quite difficult with no oven. If you feel like being really disgusting try them and please let me know if it is as nasty delicious as it looks.
Images and recipe kindly borrowed from The Londoner - please take a look at her blog. It is quite good and she has lots of fine and delicious recipes on things like pizza, healthy green drinks etc. Go go go visit here <-- .

This is all you need
1 Box of cookie mix,
1 Box of brownie mix,
2 Eggs,
2 Packs of Oreos (double stuffed ones are even better if you can find them)
Some oil
& your favourite ice-cream (optional)
Preheat your oven to 350°F, 180°C, gas mark 4.
Line a baking tray with grease proof paper.
Follow
the instructions on the cookie mix box & stir furiously until you
have gooey cookie dough, I usually add a little extra water and oil to
what they suggest, it just keeps it moist as you'll be baking it for
longer than suggested. An extra teaspoon of each is just right.
Squidge (technical term) the cookie dough into a lined baking tray, until it covers the bottom.
Cover the layer with your Oreos. Don't use the broken ones, eat them as
you go. This recipe is too glorious to use substandard Oreos.
Mix up your brownie batter. Just stick to the recipe on the box for this one.
& pour over your Oreos.
Bake for 30mins.
Remove from the oven and leave to cool.
When its still a little bit warm, use the paper to lift your creation out of the tray and rest it on a chopping board.
Use
a large, sharp knife to cut it into manageable chunks, sections,
slabs... depending on how many calories you think you can handle in one
sitting.
Yet another weekend has passed by
Waking up sunday morning around noon feels like having missed out on a lot - especially when beeing in London. But I blame it on the night out. There were so many things I would have liked to do - guess it is gonna be another weekend or during the week.
From my train ride home from work
My roommate and I went out for a walk and saw this cool car
From same tour - so cozy here in London
Shopping / tourism madness on Oxford Street
A night out...

Changes, goodbye's and "see you again hopefully soon"s
Being here in London means meeting lots of new and great people, but unfortunately it also means saying goodbye or see you again.
Already after only a week I had to say goodbye to Garrett and Glenn from the Green Man. Sunday I changed rooms here at "K" which meant saying goodbye/see ya later to my roommates, but also saying hi to new ones - who by the way are great!
Maybe it is utopia hoping to see everyone again some day, but some of them I really hope will cross my path again. The others I will have great memories about.

Weekend = fun!
Another weekend just passed by. I do not know what it is with London, for some reason it feels like time is going much faster here. On tuesday it will be 3 weeks since I arrived.
Even though I am not completely over my cough and sore throat I thought it was time to go out and have some fun.
In a previous post I mentioned that I wanted to make a list with things I want to see while I am here. On that list was and still is Camden Town. I went there last year with to Austrian guys that I had met at The Green Man. Unfortunately we came quite late and the market had shut down. Only some food stands were open, and a Cuban bar - that was it.
So I decided I should go and have a look at The Staples Market. And wooow! So many people, so many stands with everything that is possible to sell. I got blown away. Even though I spend 4 hours there, I did not see everything - I have to go back some day.
At 17:00 o'clock I went back to the hostel to get ready for an appointment. As I have not got any network over here yet, except for the danes, I was recommended to look at the website chouchsurfing.com. It is not only for people who are offering or looking for couch to sleep on, but also people who are looking for others to hang out with. So I tried, and wrote to this guy and asked if he wanted to hang out this weekend. Saturday we went to this Grand Opening at London Pleasure Gardens (oh yes, when he wrote me and proposed to go there I had second thougts about him - pleasure gardens?!). It is located in south east London a bit further out than Greenwich - which is quite far away - especially when living north of London. Anyway, we gave it a shot and we were so dissapointed (at least I was - think he was too). It was supposed to be some kind of festival with events going on, but nothing really happened except for some artist performing.
We went around, saw what there was to see and then we decided to call it the night. With that I mean for him and I. I went back to Hampstead, stopped by Tesco around 22:00 and bought a sandwich for dinner.
Came back and our new roommate asked me if I wanted to join her, she was going to Camden to party. I thought sure, why not?! Got ready and went out and had a blast. Met some Swedish girls and guy (one of the roommates friends).
There are some things I wonder about London. One of them I mentioned in the beginning, but the other one is; why do all the clubs and bars have to close so early?! Back home we are used to clubs closing around 5 or 6 in the morning, but here it is around 2 to 3 at night. We had a good time out anyway :)
